*Newest Update*These are now officially my favorite shoes.Dancing full-time, I get about 6-8 weeks out of a pair before they start to get holes (after which I will continue to use them in class, but obviously not on stage).I had to fiddle around with sizes a little, but since I figured out the exact size I needed, the elastic border no longer digs in at my heel even in a new pair of SD26s unless my ankle is actually swollen (I'm currently rehabbing a sprain, yaaaay -.-).Good ballet shoes should pretty much disappear from your consciousness when you're dancing, and So Danca has achieved that goal for me. The SD16 is light and breathable, conforms to my foot, and doesn't turn into a sopping-wet mess halfway through a show (I sweat like a racehorse, y'all). That said, different feet like different shoes, so YMMV. To give you an idea, my feet are fairly narrow, extremely flexible, and have a high arch, a very high instep, a short talus, a long second toe, and a whole lot of taper from the second toe to the fifth toe. My ankle joints (like all my joints) are hypermobile.Someone with a longer talus might need a deeper heel cup (Bloch's Synchrony and Pro Elastic models could be good options). Someone with a lower instep is likely to be happy with a much broader range of shoes than I am, and might find this model a bit too low-cut.*Update* After 3 solid weeks of company class and rehearsals, these no longer dig into my Achilles' tendons even at the end of the day. They might be my new favorite shoes. Upgraded to 5 stars, just know that they might need a break-in period.Original review: I like these almost as much as Bloch's Synchronys. They're light, extremely supple, and they look great. The fit is very close to spot on--they don't slosh around in multiple turns. I've worn them every day through the first week and a half of company classes and rehearsals, and I'm pretty happy with them. The sole (no pun intended) drawback is that after a few hours, they do dig into the Achilles' tendon a bit. This is probably a question of how my feet and ankles are put together. It's not bad enough to cause injury, but it makes them a second choice rather than a first choice for me.Other than that, an excellent choice for dancers at any level.
