After reading other reviews of this shoe (still don't understand the elf shoe reference! lol Guess it must be the toe of the sole wrapping up in the front) I sized up half a size and got the deal on the gray shade on sale. Glad I sized up! Probably could even have gone up a whole size. As they are, I will not be able to wear any kind of sock with these unless they stretch out with wearing. But that is fine as I don't usually wear socks except in winter. I'm pleased with the comfort and sturdiness. I may get another pair going up a whole size. I normally wear an 8, got these in 8.5 but am leaning toward 9 so can wear with socks in winter and have plenty of toe room. Took a star off for the inaccurate sizing.love these shoes.
